Manufacturing

One valve, four stages

Casting is done in house. A single size is traced against the same parts list from casting to test, and these four stages run in the same order for every product.

Casting01

Body and bonnet casting

Bodies, bonnets and covers are cast in house, in bronze, steel and stainless alloys. The material is chosen for the medium and the pressure of the circuit.

Machining02

Machined to the standard

Sealing faces, stem bearings and flange faces are machined, with tolerances checked against the dimension tables of the relevant standard.

Assembly03

Assembled to the parts list

Every valve is assembled to its own material list. Packing, stem and disc are selected for the temperature and pressure the product will work at.

Testing04

Shell and seat testing

Products pass shell and seat tightness testing before dispatch, at the pressures the relevant standard prescribes.

Quality

Certification is part of manufacturing, not an outcome of it

The material a valve was cast from and the standard it was built to should always be traceable.

01

Type approved production

Products carry type approval from Türk Loydu, RMRS and RINA, and the quality management system is certified to ISO 9001.

02

Traceable material

The material used in every product is stated in the parts list together with its standard.

03

Documentation with the product

The technical drawing, the dimension table and the material list are delivered with the product.

Certification

Class approvals and the documents that ship with the product

Which society approved a valve, and which documents arrive with it, are the two things worth knowing before an order.

Class society approvals

Products carry type approval from Türk Loydu, RMRS and RINA. These approvals are about the product: they say the valve is fit for marine service.

Türk Loydu
Russian Maritime Register of Shipping
RINA
Bureau Veritas — ISO 9001
American Bureau of Shipping

Quality management system

ISO 9001 is about the company: how manufacturing is run, audited and recorded.
